Second Essay... Hey I need some help!

Here it is ya might wana help me out here!!! (I made a few changes just now)

In 1965, a Searle’s scientist licked some of a new ulcer drug from his fingers and discovered the sweet taste of aspartame. Eureka! Selling this chemical as a food additive to hundreds of millions of healthy people every day would mean many more dollars than limited sales to the much smaller group of ulcer sufferers. [1]
Jim Krossik was an employee at Searle's first Aspartame plant in Phoenix. He developed neural toxicity from breathing the Aspartame dust in the air in the plant and passed out on the plant floor. When he recovered and returned to work, he found that all employees were required to wear a facemask lest they breathe the deadly Nutra Sweet dust! He complied but absorbed enough through his skin that he passed out on the floor dead! The autopsy report revealed a "severe alcoholic cardiomyopathy" as its only finding. Jim used no alcoholic beverage. [2]

What was the culprit of Jim’s death? Nutra Sweet Dust found from an ulcer drug, formally known as Aspartame. As Betty Martini
[3] said “Aspartame is an "approved sweetener" because of a few greedy and dishonest people who place profits above human life and well-being.” She is exactly right; you should try to stay away from aspartame use because it is nothing but a poison.

First, you should avoid aspartame because it mimics or worsens certain diseases. It mimics diseases like: Arthritis, Lyme disease, and Attention Deficit Disorder.
[4] It worsens diseases like: Diabetes, Epilepsy, and Fibromyalgia. Don’t you think, if you were going to drink soda at all you should just drink the kind with sugar in it; instead of making a disease you might have worse?

Second, because it causes many symptoms and reactions. Aspartame accounts for over 75% of all adverse reactions reported to the FDA. [5] Reactions like: Panic attacks, Depression, Migraines, Marked personality changes and, even worse, Death. Can you believe that if you consume to much aspartame you could die! There are 92 documented symptoms of Aspartame Poisoning. [6] 92 symptoms, chances are you have one of them.

Third, you should stay away from aspartame because it’s a poison. 10% of aspartame is methanol, which turns to formaldehyde in your body. [7] Did you know, the EPA recommended limit for methanol consumption is 7.8 mg/day? However, a quart of aspartame-sweetened soda has 56mg. You would never believe that Formaldehyde is grouped in the same class of drugs as cyanide, fluoride, mercury, lead and arsenic-- which are all deadly poisons. [8]

Another reason is: it has harmed hundreds upon hundreds of animals used for testing. For over eight years, the FDA refused to approve aspartame because of the seizures and brain tumors it produced in lab animals. [9] Early tests of the substance showed it produced microscopic holes and tumors in the brains of experimental mice and epileptic seizures and possible eye damage in monkeys. [10] Don’t you think that if it can happen to animals it can happen to us?

Last, it is advertised as a diet sweetener, but Aspartame actually tends to make you to gain weight. It makes you crave carbohydrates.[11] No one wants to crave fat when they are trying to lose it. Some news people published the following article: (Title: Artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose may actually promote obesity and weight gain, says research.) Here is a piece from it: “Groundbreaking new research published in the International Journal of Obesity reveals that artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose -- precisely the kinds of chemical sweeteners found in diet soft drinks or many low-carb food products -- may actually promote obesity by tricking the body into thinking that sweet-tasting foods and drinks don't contain as many calories as they really do. In the experiments, rats who were fed artificially-sweetened foods tended to overeat foods containing real sweeteners, causing them to gain weight. In humans, it's the same result: drink diet soft drinks and consume enough foods made with artificial sweeteners, and you'll very likely overeat the sweets when the real thing comes along: apple pie, cookies, cake, ice cream, and so on.” [12]

You see... ASPARTAME IS BAD! (I need a better ending than that!)

Im done with my first essay so here it is!!! :-D

A Witness of the Light

There was a man who could not talk, so he would have to converse by pointing at different letters laid out on his wheelchair. We will just call him Joe. The preacher who taught Joe patiently answered his voiceless questions. At the end of the Bible studies Joe became a Christian, and he told the pastor, “I want to teach a Bible study.” So some friends wheeled Joe to peoples’ doors, and Joe would point out the letters that spelled, “Can I teach you a Bible study?” Many people said, “No, I am too busy” or entirely ignored him; but one couple came outside and said, “Yes you can”. So the couple was taught a twelve-week Bible study by Joe, a man who took five minutes to spell one sentence. The couple became Christians also. In John 1: 6-8 (KJV) it says: “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.” If Joe could be a witness of the light you should take some time to witness.

First of all, someone took the time to tell you about Jesus. So you should take the time to tell somebody. Where do you think you would be right now, if you had never heard about God? We live in a lost and dying world. Isn’t it important to you that others have a chance to go to heaven? It is a horrible thought that someone will have to spend in eternity in hell, not because they were unrepentant but simply because they did not know how to become a child of God. But that is not the only reason you should witness.

Another reason is: It is a Christian’s obligation to testify about Christ. The Bible says “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” That does not necessarily mean you have to become a missionary and go to Africa. But perhaps instead you could start by taking a little time to witness to people in your city or where you work. Just think--half the people in this world will never have the chance of hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ unless you tell them. It does not have to be knocking on doors and teaching Bible studies all day; you can start with something small like showing love. I know you are probably thinking, “I do not have the time to witness.” I agree with you completely. But what if, instead of watching TV all day, you could stand in front of a store helping people carry out their bags? Besides demonstrating God’s love for others, you might make a good friend! But there’s one more important thing you need to understand.

God wants everyone to go to heaven. Everyone is so very important to Him, and they should be important to you and me. It seems so much now that Christians reject or at least ignore new people who come to their church. They stay away from the people because they are not saved or they just happened to see them at the bar last night when they were driving by. The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.” Then, why sometimes is it easier for us to hate the sinner rather than the sin? If Christ died for all the sinners in the world so that they could be saved and live with Him for eternity, then we should start telling them about Christ.

I think if Joe, the man who couldn’t talk, could take the time to witness, then we should be able to take the time to tell others about Christ. What I mean is this: What if everyone told one person about Jesus? Think about that... what a different world we would have.

I think Im going to use this for my next essay.

Through the eyes of a child

I remember when I was about six years old; I loved winter. Right after the first huge snow my friends and I would go to Buttermilk creek hill. I remember most of the time the hill would ice over, so right after it snowed it was really slippery. The hill must have been at least fifty feet tall and a hundred feet wide. I would start climbing to the top with my friends, slipping on all the ice and trying to drag up a giant tube that was twice as heavy as I was. Once at the top I would jump in with my friends and suddenly I was magicly flying to the other end of the park. Some of the best memories of my life were when I was around five to nine; the carefree days I call them. But you know what’s funny? Now, when I go to Fond du Lac and I look at the hill when I’m riding by in the car, it doesn’t seem so big, so wild, or so insanely awesome. Sure it would still be really fun to sled on... But sometimes I still wish I could see things through the eyes of a child.

Could you guys tell me what I need to change or add?

A Witness of the Light.

There was a man that could not talk, so he would have to converse by pointing at different letters laid out on his wheelchair. We will just call him Joe. The preacher who taught Joe, patiently answered his voiceless questions. At the end of the Bible studies Joe became a Christian, and he told the pastor, “I want to teach a Bible study.” So some friends wheeled Joe to peoples’ doors, and Joe would point out the letters that spelled, “Can I teach you a Bible study?” Many people said, “No I am to busy” or entirely ignored him, but one couple came outside and they said, “Yes you can”. So the couple got taught a 12-week Bible study by Joe, a man who took 5minutes to spell one sentence. The couple became Christians also....

John 1: 6-8 (KJV) “There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.” Do you think if Joe could be a witness of the light that maybe we could take some time to witness?

First of all, It is a Christian’s obligation to testify about Christ. The Bible says “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” That doesn’t mean you have to go to Africa and spend your whole life as a missionary. Now of course if God calls you to do something like that, then do it. But can’t we at least start by taking a little time to witness to people in our city or where we work? Just think, half the people in this world will never have the chance of hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ unless we tell them. It doesn’t have to be knocking on doors and teaching Bible studies all day; you can start with something small like showing love.

The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.” Why sometimes is it easier for us to hate the sinner and not hate the sin? If Christ died for all the sinners in the world so that they could be saved and live with him for eternity, then we should start telling them about Christ. Now I know that phrase that keeps popping up in your head.

After all I have said your still probably thinking, “ I am too busy,” or “I do not have the time to witness”. Look I agree with you 150%. I really am to busy, I have school, homework, I have things to do at church like: PowerPoint or singing, I have Chores, and, come on, I have to have some time for friends. Yes, I would agree with the much too familiar American excuse “I am too busy”. But can you say you have never had a day where you just lie around being bored, listening to music for a couple hours, watching TV, playing your guitar. I have had days where I will sit and practice my guitar until my fingers are purple. But what if, instead of watching TV all day you stood in front of a store helping people carry out their bags? Besides demonstrating God’s love for others, you might make a good friend!

I think if Joe, the man who couldn’t talk, could take the time to witness; then we should be able to take the time to tell others about Christ. What I mean is: What if everyone told one person about Jesus? Think about that... what a different world we would have.

There it would be...... If you could help me.... That would be grrrreat!

A Witness of the Light

Do you notice how your eyes are drawn to the Light
----->
in a world of darkness.....

#1: You can witness in many different ways. It doesn't have to be knocking on doors and teaching Bible studies all day. Many of you are not good public speakers, like me; and many of you are excellent speakers. But its ok to start with something small: showing love to someone by carrying thier grocery bags or cooking supper for a neighbor going through a hard time.

#2: It is a Christian's Obligation to testify about Christ. The Bible says “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” That doesn’t mean you have to go to Africa and spend you whole life as a missionary. Now of course if God calls you to do something like that, than do it. But can’t we at least start by taking a little time to witness to people in our city or where we work. #3: God wants everyone to go to heaven. Everyone is so very important to him, and they should be important to you and me. It seams so much now that Christians reject or at least ignore new people that come to their church. They stay away from them because they aren’t saved or they just happened see them at the bar last night. The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.” Then why sometimes is it easier for us to hate the sinner and not the sin? If Christ died for all the sinners in the world so that they could be saved and live with him for eternity, then we should start telling the the unsaved about Christ.

Brainstorming....

Well, I really wanted to write about the glory of God. But ha I really found out how hard it is to write about God... You see I'm extremely passionate about God (I mean common he is omnipotent, omnipresent, all powerful, ever loving... and he died for a scum like me HA! how could you not be passionate about that!) but even though its usually easy for me to write when I'm passionate about something. God is not one of those easy things to write about. I have learned that I become: speechless, dumbfounded, baffled, and lost, when I try to explain how awesome God is! So my lovely point is I couldn't do it no matter how much I wanted to. So I went to Anne's and started walking back and forth and complaining and then throwing myself on the floor and sighing. Then suddenly Anne would mention something and I would be like "Ah ha!" I kept on writing down different ideas and points and then I would look at it and go "no". It was late and I had to go so finally on Sunday I picked my topic and on wrote out my outline on Monday... after another night at Anne's. (Yes, I was working very hard that night! *uncomfortable blush*) Anyway my topic is ha ha Hobbies! Ya I know hobbies is a FAR CRY from God but hey what can I say! The Heavens declare the Glory of GOD much better than I do! :-0

Once again I feel small and insignificant...

Assignment #1

#1: The story to introduce the essay really got you interested in what they were going to say.

#2:They ask you a lot of questions that made you consider what they’re saying.

#3:Using scripture to help try to prove their point.

#4:How they mentioned the issue wasn’t just the choice to not spit on the Bible but that the choice not to symbolized something greater.

#5: Then the last sentence wrapped up their view on the subject by asking the topic question over and stating their answer.

Little things God does...

Just thought I would share this experience with you. Ok I was babysitting this girl and she was just going to bed... well I tucked her in and she said "Bekki read me a bible verse" and I thought God help me! I don't know what to pick out of the WHOLE bible, I was just like God show me a verse... and he did! I love the book of Psalms so I turned there and right away this verse POPPED out at me so here it is...

we were like men who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.

yeh its just kool to me cause of the dreaming and the joy! well peace
